I’m a columnist with the Los Angeles Times, AskMen.com and Chatelaine.com, and have written extensively for AOL and a variety of fitness magazines. Depending on venue I can be nice, risqué, or a bit of a jerk. Pick your preferred style and get motivated.
All things considered, I’m amazed I don’t have multiple personality disorder. Some of these articles are targeted at middle-aged women, while others read like I composed them inside a locker room full of frat boys.
Regardless of voice, these published articles represent almost 200,000 words on getting inspired for health, learning to love exercise, improving performance, losing fat, building muscle, exposing quacks and frauds, and relaying practical, real-world advice about fitness.
First, the Etcetera
Besides lots of writing, I sometimes appear on TV and radio and am quoted in print. Plus I regularly get to stand in front of crowds of people and go on a rant.
If you want to interview me or book me as a speaker: Send an email to james@bodyforwife.com or phone 403.991.0061 between 8:00am – 5:00pm MST/MDT, Monday-Friday. The email you can send whenever you want.

Now, the Articles…
The Los Angeles Times
I write the column “In-Your-Face Fitness” for the LA Times. These articles frequently show up in other Tribune newspapers such as the Chicago Tribune, the Baltimore Sun, the Orlando Sun, and the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. My column has received international media attention and covered by Us magazine, People magazine, CBS News, Yahoo, and both major newspaper chains across Canada, plus a bunch of other media I’ve never heard of in countries I’ve never been to.

Chatelaine.com
Chatelaine is a women’s lifestyle publication and is the largest circulation magazine in Canada, with a monthly circulation of over half a million and more than three million readers. I write a weekly fitness column and am a twice-weekly health blogger for their website: Chatelaine.com. These articles are frequently rerun on MSN and Yahoo.

AskMen.com
AskMen.com is an international men’s lifestyle web-portal with over 15 million unique visitors each month. I’m a new columnist with these guys, and they let me hang it all out. Consider yourself warned.
AOL – That’s Fit!
I don’t write for them anymore (no, nothing bad happened). However, I did get a bit of a reputation from my column, where I had over 100 articles published as the “Fit Family Guy.”

Other Articles
I do a bit of magazine writing here and there, when I can convince them I’m worthy.
