If you fail to plan you can plan to fail. Want to get in shape? Don’t “Just do it.” Instead: Plan, prepare, THEN do. Personal training and nutrition counselling are valuable, but before that you need to understand the big picture of a fit lifestyle.
If you’ve got fitness goals you want to achieve I’ll put together a comprehensive strategic plan that will motivate your ass in a phased, step-by-step manner. I can work with anyone in the world, but if you’re outside North America you need to either Skype or pay for the phone calls.

If you are half way to your weight loss goal and stuck at a plateau, I’ll show you how to break through. If you are in good shape and questing for “great,” I know the path. If you’re injured, unmotivated, fat, desperate, and feel like evolution played a joke on you, I can still help you reach your genetic potential.
My clients range from those who haven’t worked out in years and have terrible diets, to those who have been elite athletes that want to slim down the belly and build up their pecs. I’ve helped working mothers and working grandmothers, guys slimming down for their first bride and for their second, young women wanting to look hot for a boyfriend and those wanting to find a boyfriend. The closest I’ve come to being a celebrity trainer is working with a Gemini-nominated television director. My primary focus is regular people.
I specialize in tough cases and advocate the tortoise approach over the hare, because slow and steady is what gets and keeps you there.

Strategic Fitness Plan: $1,199
This plan is an in-depth look at your life as it pertains to fitness. We start with a 90-minute conversation that can be done in person if you’re in the Calgary area or via phone if you’re not. During this meeting I run through a detailed questionnaire that covers a host of relevant questions about your lifestyle.
We look at time, family, work, physical capabilities, eating habits, attitude towards exercise, past experience, genetics, finances, goals, support structures, friends, location, illnesses and injuries. I use this information to create an in-depth, personalized strategic lifestyle plan that takes you through the process of realizing your fitness ambitions from start to finish. It covers:
- Metabolic profile
- Health risks of current lifestyle
- Goals
- Motivation
- Time-management, including the when and where of exercise
- Action items / Types of exercise and programs
- Accountability
- If necessary, recommendations for personal training and/or nutritional counselling from a Registered Dietician (and how to best utilize such people)
- In-depth tactical implementation in a calendar format that gradually prompts you towards increased exercise and dietary improvements over time.
Note that I’m not married to any one exercise regime. The best type of exercise program is the one you like and will stick to.
Once the plan is delivered (as a .pdf file) I give you time to read it over then we follow up with a 30-minute phone call where we can discuss it and I’ll answer any questions you have.

Hourly Consulting
My hourly rate is $150.
If you just want to chat on the phone about specific problems or questions for an hour – or if you just need a motivational pep talk – I’m both qualified and happy to. Ongoing consulting is also valuable for people who struggle with motivation and need to discuss implementation of their strategic plan regularly to keep them accountable and focused. If you’re not big into reading, this may be a more viable alternative for you, or we can combine both a written plan with ongoing phone consulting. Whatever works. I also sell five hour blocks for $650.
