Summary of Phase 2

This phase actually got you doing some stuff, so I hope you’re all set. To recap:

  • Realize that this is also a financial investment. Make a commitment and budget accordingly.
  • Home exercise equipment sucks. There are many excellent reasons to join a gym, so pick the right one for you.
  • Take a good look at your schedule and figure out the right time of day to exercise.
  • Being well outfitted and equipped for exercise builds more self-efficacy and makes the experience more enjoyable. It is money well spent.
  • Music is proven to increase effort with aerobic activity, but it may not be a good idea for weightlifting.
  • You’ve got to get your family on side, but preparing or involving friends is optional.
  • I advise you to try getting started without a workout partner in order to build your intrinsic motivation. If that doesn’t work, then get a partner.
  • Get your stuff ready for the gym the night before.
